Advisory Committees
There are four standing committees under the CIEC.
Close
Academic Relations
This committee will organize events that will facilitate relationship-building among
education stakeholders between the 2 countries. This committee will cater to the
needs of University and College Presidents, VPs, Vice Chancellors, Directors of
International offices and other decision makers and assist its members in establishing
key linkages with policy makers & major stakeholders within each country's
education system.
Events will be produced and delivered to help participants to:
- Network with potential partners, affiliates & delivery providers by establishing
connections, creating new links and setting up introductory meetings with local
NGO's, State and Central Government bodies.
- Establish key linkages for joint ventures, 'feeder institutions', 'Campus
Canada' and faculty/student exchanges & recruiting.
- Learn about developments in the Indian Government's new 'liberalized'
education policy & help establish the Canadian brand in India.
- Engage with and meet Canadian visa offices overseas & tour 'behind the scenes'
by interacting with Trade Commissioners.

Recruitment
The objective of this committee will be to organize recruitment events such as 'unFAIR'
and partner with other education fairs to aid student recruitment initiatives. The
committee will organize events that empower the council's members to effectively
recruit from high schools & junior colleges and to directly engage with students,
guidance counsellors and parents. This committee will primarily cater to recruiters
who are result driven and can adapt to evolving trends in international recruiting
patterns.
unFAIR will:
- Focus less on glamour, more on results.
- Innovatively be different from traditional recruitment fairs that tend to attract
'souvenir hunters'.
- Be ideal for seasoned recruiters to penetrate the student market & who understand
local dynamics.
- Be an opportunity to meet high school guidance counsellors and build strategic relations
with key influencers.
- Attract a wider 'target' audience in terms of creating a well planned recruiting
initiative rather than the 'hit & miss' approach of recruiting fairs.

Student & Faculty Exchange
The objective of this committee will be to foster and coordinate student & faculty
exchange programs. This committee will help bring schools interested in student/faculty
exchanges together and mobilize the initiative. The committee will work with universities
and colleges to gather intelligence on requirements and preferences and find appropriate
institutions to connect with in each country for long term or temporary programs.

Expected to be a potent and powerful group, this Committee will consist of representatives
from key Canadian and Indian organizations and players active in the 'education
corridor'. Invitations will be sent to institutions such as AUCC, Asia Pacific,
ACCC, AIU, CBIE, DFAIT, CIC, CII, FICCI, IMC, Higher Education Forum, CMEC and other
stake holders including Provincial and Federal representatives.
